RULES

Any individual may donate. Donations through Give Big Valleys are received and receipted by Mightycause Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) charity that operates a donor-advised fund to fulfill donor advisements.

The minimum donation is $5 and there is no maximum donation limit. Donations are tax-deductible and irrevocable (donations will not be refunded). Online contributions may be made via debit card, credit card, PayPal, ApplePay, Google Pay, Venmo and ACH.

For an organization to participate, they must serve communities located in Burnett, Dunn, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, or St. Croix Counties. For more information on participation, please contact Steve McCarthy, Executive Director at 715-377-0203 ext. 102 or steve.mccarthy@unitedwaystcroix.org.

Organizations can track donations in real-time and have access to donor name and contact information. As the host of Give Big Valleys, United Way St. Croix and Red Cedar Valleys (UW Valleys) will receive contact information for online donors. This information is used solely to thank the donor for participating and to notify the donor of future Give BIG Valleys activities.

Only online and offline donations will show in the all participants leaderboard.

Please keep copies of all checks received.  UW Valleys reserves the right to request a copy of any check (with account information blacked-out) to verify that the check was received during the giving period.

UW Valleys can modify any restrictions or conditions if, in the sole judgment of the Board of Directors, such restriction or condition becomes unnecessary, incapable of fulfillment or inconsistent with the charitable needs of the community. As such,  UW Valleys reserves the right to deny or condition the distribution of prize grants if, in the judgment of its Board of Directors, such restriction or condition becomes necessary.

More than $20,000 Matching Dollars Available!

Nonprofits participating in Give Big Valleys will have the opportunity to receive a proportionate share of all remaining matching funds. This number will be based on the total that the organization raises and the amount that all participating nonprofits collectively raise.

Participating nonprofits are encouraged to secure their own matching gifts from donors close to them.

Disbursement for the awarded matching funds can be expected by June 1st from  United Way St. Croix and Red Cedar Valleys.
