Together, we can end hunger and build brighter futures.
River Valley Charities fuels essential programs that nourish children, support families, and strengthen our St. Croix Valley communities.

River Valley Charities (RVC) has been building hope across the St. Croix Valley since 2015. Our mission is simple but powerful: to combat food insecurity and create pathways to brighter, sustainable futures.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we've raised and given back well over $600,000—all directly invested in programs that provide nourishing meals, fresh produce, and essential support to children and families in need.

Each year, thousands of families rely on RVC-funded programs to put food on the table and take steps toward long-term stability. By addressing immediate hunger and supporting lasting development, RVC helps ensure every child has the chance to thrive.

Join us in making an impact that lasts.

Our 2024 Recap

From Farm to Future: Growing Healthy Communities Together

At River Valley Charities, we believe access to fresh, healthy food is essential to building strong communities. That’s why we’re proud to partner with the Farm at Camp St. Croix to bring nutritious, locally grown produce directly to families facing food insecurity throughout the St. Croix Valley.

Through this collaboration, we help harvest and distribute thousands of pounds of fruits and vegetables each season to our network of food shelves and backpack programs throughout the St. Croix Valley — ensuring that children and families not only have enough to eat, but also have access to the kinds of fresh, quality foods that fuel healthy growth and learning.

Together with the Farm at Camp St. Croix, we’re planting seeds of hope, resilience, and opportunity across our community.  Learn more about our partnership in the video below!

Empowering and Strengthening Our Community, One Skill at a Time

At River Valley Charities, we believe that fighting hunger means more than just putting meals on the table — it means tackling the root causes of poverty and food insecurity head-on.

That's why we’re expanding our impact beyond nutrition support by launching a free, accessible financial literacy program for anyone in our community. It's our first direct wraparound service designed to empower individuals and families with the tools they need to achieve lasting stability.

Our vision is bigger than food relief — it’s about creating pathways to independence, dignity, and opportunity. By equipping our neighbors with skills like budgeting, saving, and planning for the future, we’re planting seeds for generational change across the St. Croix Valley.

Together, we’re not just feeding families — we're building a stronger, more resilient community.

Building Partnerships to End Childhood Hunger: RVC's Backpack Program Roundtable

A few years ago, River Valley Charities hosted a successful roundtable to bring together local organizations focused on addressing childhood hunger in the St. Croix River Valley. Now, we’re bringing this important conversation back, with a renewed focus on strengthening partnerships and expanding our collective impact.

This year’s roundtable will bring together our dedicated backpack program partners, including key collaborators like the St. Croix Valley Food Bank and the Public Health Department, to share insights, strategies, and challenges in ensuring that children have access to weekend meals. By reconnecting and reinforcing these vital partnerships, we aim to improve the efficiency and reach of our programs, ensuring that no child in our community faces hunger.

When children are well-fed, they perform better in school, are more prepared for success, and are better equipped to break the cycle of poverty. At River Valley Charities, we believe that ensuring kids have access to nutritious meals today paves the way for brighter futures tomorrow. Through our work, we hope to empower the next generation to rise above their circumstances and build a life of opportunity.

River Valley Charities is proud to serve as a catalyst for this collaboration, working to create lasting change and build a stronger, healthier community for all. Together, we are making a real difference in the lives of children facing hunger.
