GIVE BIG 2026!

SPRING 2026 Author Events

Saturday, March 28th The Friends of the Amery Area Public Library,  Jessica Wittkop, introduced award winning crime fiction author Erin Hart and author/musician Paddy O'Brien at the Amery Area Community Center.

Over forty-five guests  enjoyed  traditional Irish accordion music and tales of Ireland.  Erin Hart shared her research process creating  books rich with Irish history.

Thank you to Erin Hart, Paddy O'Brien, the Amery Area Public Library, the Amery Free Press and The Amery Area Community Center for helping make this event a success.

THE FRIENDS WELCOMED OUR SECOND  AUTHOR EVENT, ALLEN ESKENS!!!

April 24th, at the Amery City Center, Author Eskens spoke to a very enthusiastic audience about himself, his writings, motivations and the benefits of daydreaming.  He shared background and research information on his latest book; The Quiet Librarian. His many followers had numerous questions, which he graciously spoke to with knowledge and great humor.

GIVE BIG!

FRIENDS MEMBERS ARE IMPORTANT!!!

The Friends of the Amery Library will continue celebrating our long time service.

The Friends of the Amery Area Public Library Foundation actively supports the library's mission by providing critical financial support for collections and programs. Friends help energize library services. Membership dues, grants and donations support The Friends' goals.

PLACING BOOKS INTO THE HANDS OF EVERYONE

The Friends Bookstore is located in the lower level of the Amery Library/City Center. Our goal is to place gently used books and media into the hands of everyone. Used books and media are available to all for a free will donation.

The bookstore has been increasingly successful, a unique and essential resource in our community. Patrons' good will offerings have provided supportive funds to the library.

In 2025 approximately 8,000 used books and media were redistributed into the community. This provides supplemental support for the library while offering affordable books and media to our community, as well as reducing the waste stream directed to landfills. Book sales of gently used books are always held on the first Saturday of the month, and on the preceding Thursday.

The new Friends Totes, displayed by Youth Services Librarian Emma and designed by Amery High School student Paige Komanec, have been extremely popular.
