Help Us Complete the Gandy Dancer Trail Kiosk Project!

The Gandy Dancer State Trail is more than just a path — it’s a vital connection between our towns, our businesses, and our natural beauty. Today, we need your help to finish an important project that will enhance the experience for every trail user.

Our Goal: We are raising $1,200 to complete the construction of four new informational kiosks at trailheads in four of our trail towns: Centuria, Milltown, Frederic, and Lewis. These kiosks will:

  • Share the rich history of each community

  • Highlight area amenities and things to do

  • Provide a welcoming first stop for visitors and residents alike

Why We Need Your Support: State and county budgets have limited resources to fund projects like this. That’s where the Friends of Gandy Dancer — and supporters like you — step in. As a volunteer-driven group, we work hard to maintain, improve, and promote the trail for everyone’s enjoyment. Every dollar you give will go directly toward purchasing local lumber and roofing materials to finish these beautiful kiosks.

Why the Kiosks Matter: These kiosks will not only make the trail more inviting, but they also support the small businesses that make our towns unique. Whether you're grabbing a coffee, renting a bike, or finding a cozy place to stay overnight, these kiosks will help visitors discover everything our communities have to offer.

Your Impact:

  • $25 could buy hardware or finishing materials

  • $50 could purchase a sheet of plywood or signage

  • $100 could help fund roofing supplies

  • $300 could sponsor an entire kiosk section!

Every contribution, large or small, brings us closer to completing this important project. Plus, you'll be part of building something that thousands of trail users will appreciate for years to come.

Join us today and leave your mark on the Gandy Dancer State Trail! Together, we can make the trail even better — for our communities, our visitors, and everyone who loves the outdoors.

About the Gandy Dancer State Trail
The Gandy Dancer connects the communities of St. Croix Falls, Centuria, Milltown, Luck, Frederic, Lewis, Siren, Webster and Danbury. Constructed on a former railroad corridor, the 47 mile trail is generally level. The surface is hard crushed limestone. There are over 340 geocaches along the trail between St. Croix Falls and Danbury. The trail is open to pedestrian use Spring thru Fall and is motorized in winter.

We are dedicated to your health & wellness by:

  • Improving the quality of life for residents & visitors of all ages and abilities
  • Offering a safe means of outdoor activity away from motorized activity
  • Providing a wide variety of recreational opportunities and events
  • Promoting local businesses and healthy tourism industry

Trails and open spaces need people like you to protect and promote them.

If you hike, bicycle, live adjacent to or frequent the trail… if you enjoy the nature programs with bird, plant and wildlife experts … if you enjoy the trail’s scenic value and rural communities … if you want to support the health benefits that hundreds of school children and people of all ages enjoy … please support the Friends of Gandy Dancer!

Here are a few examples of what we do for the Gandy Dancer State Trail:

  • organize annual clean-ups and regular trail work days
  • assist our partners with removal of storm debris and general trail maintenance
  • plan, promote and sponsor events
  • provide area youth with fun, educational trail activities (i.e. Gandy BINGO)
  • raise money to purchase trail head fixtures such as interpretive displays, kiosks, bike racks, educational markers and shelter
  • secure grants and do good in our communities
