Support New Freedom Transportation with your donation

Need to get to the grocery store, the doctor's office, a job interview, or your veteran's service office?

New Freedom Transportation is here to assist you.

How it works:

Qualified individuals can utilize our volunteer driver or voucher programs to access transportation for medical appointments, educational pursuits, employment-related activities, and social events. Riders who have someone else available to drive them may be eligible for the voucher program. Riders can receive vouchers to help offset a portion of their transportation costs. Eligibility is typically based on having a permanent or temporary disability, being frail elderly, or facing a transportation barrier.

We serve the following areas:

Adams, Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Clark, Crawford, Douglas, Dunn, Eau Claire, Florence, Grant, Iron, Iowa, Jackson, Juneau, La Crosse, Lafayette, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Monroe, Oneida, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Portage, Price, Richland, Rusk, Sawyer, Sauk, St. Croix, Taylor, Trempealeau, Vernon, Vilas, Washburn, and Wood.

Specialized Medical Vehicles / Two Bariatric Medical Vans:

New Freedom Transportation operates two specialized medical vans capable of accommodating up to 1,000 pounds combined for the rider and wheelchair. Services are available in Barron, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk, and St. Croix counties. Since January 2025, our vans have provided over 1,282 rides to non-ambulatory riders.

New Freedom Transportation Program:

In collaboration with Compass IL, indiGo Independent Living, and Independent Living Choices, we have worked to improve transportation access for individuals with disabilities and the frail elderly who face barriers in traveling.

The One Call Center:

Developed to serve the 41-county area, the One Call Center provides a single point of contact for all transportation inquiries. Qualified participants can request rides through available drivers, or the center will refer callers to other transportation services within their county as needed.
